X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>The Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) Provider Course is designed to help the basic pediatric healthcare provider develop the knowledge and skills for emergency assessment and treatment of seriously ill infants and children.</p>
<p>In this course you will learn how to:</p>
<p>1. Recognize respiratory distress and failure, shock, and cardiac arrest.</p>
<p>2. Provide appropriate lifesaving actions within the initial minutes of response until the child is transferred to an advanced life support provider.</p>
<p>Books for this class can be purchased or borrowed in the Staff Development Office.</p>
<p>This course prerequisites include: 1. Be proficient in performing CPR skills using the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC.</p>
<p>2. Understand the basic concepts of the "assess-categorize-decide-act" approach. Students are expected to read and study the PEARS provider Manual and student CD prior to class.</p>
<p>This course will be awarded 6.0 contact hours</p>
<p>Cost for the course is $80.00 for BRH staff and $160.00 for non-BRH staff (does not include the cost of the books). Work with your director to assure you have time off the unit to take the class.</p>

<h4><strong>Payment and Cancellation Policy</strong></h4>
<p>Payment is due in full at the time of registration to secure your spot in the class. Cancellations made at least one week prior to the start of the class are eligible for a full refund, cancellations made less than one week before the class begins are non-refundable. This class requires three attendees to be in regulation with our training center standers, if the class does not fulfill these requirements, it will be canceled and rescheduled. If you are unable to make the rescheduled class, you will be issued a refund. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.</p>
