We offer a complete, state-of-the-art sleep lab, staffed by compassionate, experienced medical experts. Our Sleep Disorders Laboratory approaches each case with a thorough analysis, followed by patient education and treatment.

Located on the second floor at Bartlett Regional Hospital, the Sleep Disorders Laboratory offers hotel-like suites complete with a full size bed, television and private bathroom. In the morning, a full breakfast is served in your room.

Timely Results

Preliminary results are faxed to the referring physician immediately following the sleep study. A complete analysis is provided within 14 days which includes a treatment plan tailored to your condition.


A physician referral is required to schedule an appointment. Sleep study appointments are usually scheduled within two weeks of referral. The private admitting desk handles all pre-certification and insurance billing. Most insurance companies cover evaluation and treatment. Contact your insurance provider for specific coverage questions.

Common Symptoms of Sleep Disorders

If you’re having any of the following symptoms, you may have a sleep disorder:

  • Snoring.
  • Difficulty breathing.
  • Sweating at night.
  • Headaches.
  • Forgetfulness.
  • Dry mouth/sore throat.
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness.
  • Daytime fatigue.
  • Insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep).
  • Leg jerks/muscle twitches.
  • Depression.
  • Enlarged tonsils.
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
  • Sexual impotence.
  • Frequent napping.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Cardiac problems.
  • Family history of sleep problems.
  • Neck size: Male > 17 inches; Female: > 16 inches.
  • Obesity/Body Mass Index > 25.

Common Sleep Disorders

There are at least 84 types of sleeping disorders. The six most common are:

  • Sleep Apnea. Sleep apnea is the most common type of disorder and is characterized by snoring, pauses in breathing and daytime sleepiness.
  • Periodic Limb Movement Disorder. This is an uncontrollable and rhythmic movement of the legs and arms during sleep.
  • Restless Legs Syndrome. Sufferers experience aching, twitching, tingling, burning, or prickling sensations in the lower leg muscles. Symptoms are relieved only when the body part is stretched or moved, making it difficult to fall asleep.
  • Narcolepsy. Narcolpesy is excessive drowsiness during the day and a tendency to sleep at inappropriate times.
  • Parasomnias. These include sleep walking, night terrors and nightmares.
  • Insomnia. This is a persistent inability to fall asleep or stay asleep.
