Mental Health Unit

The Mental Health Unit at Bartlett Regional Hospital is 12 bed unit providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults 18 and older in Juneau, Southeast Alaska, and the greater Alaskan community.

This unit is for the short-term assessment and treatment of all types of mental health emergencies including suicide attempts, suicidal thinking, severe depression, mania, schizophrenia and others. We rely on a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, trained nursing staff, case managers, therapists and behavioral health assistants to evaluate and treat all of our patients using an individualized treatment approach.

Calls and Visits to the Mental Health Unit

For patients on our Mental Health Unit, please check with the nurses on the unit regarding calls and visits. Telephone calls and visits may need to be restricted in order to better serve the patient.
