Patient Access Services staff would like to welcome you to Bartlett Regional Hospital. Patient Access Services (also known as patient registration) is the hub of Bartlett and we are here to help guide you, answer your questions, or register you for a service.

We pride ourselves on the C.A.R.E. values (Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) of Bartlett Regional Hospital and we want your stay here to be as pleasant as possible. We understand that coming to the hospital can be tough in some situations. Our staff want to do their best to set you at ease and help where we can or possibly lead you to someone else who can.

To better identify patients and reduce errors in electronic health records, Bartlett Regional Hospital is joining other health care facilities across the country and capturing a current photograph of patients during the registration process. When you present for services, patient access staff will ask to take your photo using a webcam. Thank you for helping us ensure your patient records are up-to-date.

An Outpatient Registration Form for all ancillary services; such as Diagnostic Imaging (also known as X-ray, Mammography, CT, and MRI), and PT/OT/ST (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy) is needed for each outpatient encounter.

Bartlett House - A Place to Stay

Bartlett Regional Hospital serves patients from all parts of Southeast Alaska. Some patients and their families have to travel considerable distances for treatment. It’s a convenient, low-cost lodging alternative for families of out-of-town patients. Bartlett House is situated on the Bartlett Regional Hospital campus, mere steps away from our emergency department and cafeteria.


The lodging facility has seven guest rooms with two single beds in each. Rooms are equipped with a private bath, telephone, alarm clock and television. The house has laundry facilities. There also is a commons area with a complete kitchen. Roll away beds are available. Two rooms are handicapped accessible.

Up to four guests are allowed in each room. No more than two rooms may be used by one family.

Bartlett House is a smoke-free and alcohol-free environment.

Guests should be able to walk or use a wheelchair and be able to care for themselves. Individuals requiring assistance to accomplish normal daily activities may stay only if accompanied by an assistance companion. Bartlett House is not a medical facility, and there are no medical personnel on staff.

Common area

The Bartlett House kitchen includes utensils, cookware and dishes. The Hospital cafeteria is across the parking lot. Vending machines are available in the hospital on the second floor.


Parking is provided.

Security is available to help transport patients to the hospital for clinical services. Contact the admission/registration office at 907-796-8900 for assistance.


Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Because of our guests’ uncertain departure dates, rooms cannot be guaranteed in advance. Guests register for check-in and checkout at the admitting/registration offices on the first floor of the hospital next to the emergency department.


Room charges are $65 per night. Payments may be made in cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Bartlett House is an authorized Medicaid provider.


Checkout is at noon. Keys must be returned to the admitting/registration offices on the first floor, which is open 24/7.

Guests will be charged an additional night’s fee for a late checkout.

Admission criteria

  • Inpatients and outpatients are allowed one day prior to appointment and two days after appointment.
  • Patients receiving medical services other than at Bartlett Regional Hospital may, with a physician referral, be eligible for rooms.
  • Families of patients or companions may stay on the same basis as patients.
  • Maximum stay for families of inpatients is seven days.
  • Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
