A new technology trio for diagnostic imaging
Our Diagnostic Imaging department has acquired the latest and greatest technology for both magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) services.
In late September, then-interim CEO Kathy Callahan signed a package deal for two new Siemens CT scanners and one MRI machine. According to Alaska Siemens Account Executive Natasha Snyder, "Bartlett Hospital is the first in the state of Alaska to have this high-end technology. It will bring services to Juneau not previously performed for things like cardiac CT and better imaging to diagnose for stroke."
"The machines should provide faster exams, better patient safety and better comfort for your patients," adds Regional Siemens Vice President Dan Boland. "It also opens the door for new types of imaging where patients don't have to worry about breathing during exams, which is a huge benefit."
The first CT machine is scheduled to be delivered by the end of the year. The second CT machine is set to be installed in May 2022. The new MRI equipment is expected in fall 2022.
