I am honored to have been selected to serve Bartlett Regional Hospital as the next chief executive officer. I want to thank the board of directors, staff and providers for their support as I transitioned into this new role. As a hospital, our teams have responded successfully to the pandemic, developing new care delivery models, implementing COVID-19 testing processes and providing vaccinations to our community.
Looking ahead, my goals for Bartlett are to meet the needs of our community, provide stability for our hospital and maintain a state of readiness as we embrace the future of health care. Immediate priorities include ensuring financial sustainability; providing quality, patient-centered care; caring for our staff and providers; and continuing to respond to the growing behavioral health crisis.
We will face the challenges ahead with strength and solidarity as an organization and fulfill our mission together. To learn more about my vision for our community hospital, please see the Q&A on pages 6 and 7. Also in this issue, details on how vaccines are our best shot for beating the pandemic, how our social workers help patients both in and out of the hospital, where to find new Bartlett Beginnings support groups for pregnancy and infant loss and the more challenging side of parenting, and Health Matters coach Sarah Lewis on making healthy meals through canning!
