Allied Health Professional Medical Staff Privileges
Allied health professionals (AHPs) are licensed, certified or otherwise qualified healthcare professionals who have been determined to be competent to provide services to patients, working collaboratively with or under the supervision of members of the medical staff and within the scope of the professional license, certification or other legal credential, in compliance with the circumstances and conditions approved by the Medical Board and Credentials Committee. AHPs may be (but are not required to be) employees of Bartlett Regional Hospital. AHPs function under clinical privileges.
AHPs consist of any allied health personnel that is seeking to practice and be granted the right to practice in the hospital through Human Resources. AHPs include the following:
- Speech pathologist (CCC and/or SLP).
- Certified prosthetics prthotics (CPO).
- Dental surgical assistant.
- Licensed social worker (LCSW).
- Emergency services worker (MA, MS, MSW, LPC, PhD).
- Patient care technician (PCT).
- Registered nurse (RN).
- Registered polysommographic technologist (RPSGT and/or RCP).
- Dialysis technician.
- Mental health counselor.
AHPs need to complete the required application for consideration:
Allied Health Professional (AHP) Application.
And include the following documents with their application:
- License, if applicable.
- Transcripts or diploma.
- State of Alaska Criminal Background Check Clearance.
- PPD tuberculosis screening.
- Position description, signed.
Return the complete application packet to Human Resources to be scheduled for interim orientation.

Those practitioners who hold outpatient privileges such as chiropractic physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, naturopathic physicians and physician assistants should continue to be subject to review by the Credentialing Committee to best determine whether the individual requesting privileges falls within the scope of license. For practitioners who hold outpatient privileges, please contact our medical staff coordinator for assistance at 907.796.8672.

New Employee Orientation
Bartlett Regional Hospital is pleased to provide a comprehensive new employee orientation program to all employees. The program is designed to meet not only the requirements of The Joint Commission regulatory agency but also strives to truly assist our new staff in the onboarding process.
New employee orientation is held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. To accommodate varying schedules, an interim orientation is scheduled as needed. Employees must start work on the second or fourth Monday of the month.
- Day 1: (all employees) includes the CEO Statement on Mission and Vision, hands-on computer/electronic training for time sheets and Meditech, compliance, confidentiality, infection control, quality and process improvement, fire and life safety and hospital-wide tour, cultural diversity, customer service, and Human Resources policies from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Day 2: (clinical staff only) Direct patient contact employees will have patient care orientation provided by staff development from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
