Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
The Basic Life Support Course is to train participants to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The American Heart Association (AHA) designed the BLS course to teach healthcare professionals how to perform high-quality CPR individually or as part of a team. BLS students will learn rescue techniques for adults, children and infants.
The book that is used for the class is the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider Manual. The manual was printed in 2016 and covers the current guidelines. You may purchase this book as a hard copy or as an online ebook. You can also check with us as we sometimes have books available for purchase.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
