<p>Bartlett Regional Hospital continues to offer the Safe Sitter class for students in grades 6-8<sup>th</sup> grade interested in learning more about babysitting or watching younger siblings. Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for children. This class teaches safe and nurturing childcare techniques, behavior management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. This 6-hour class will teach students:</p>
<p>-Safety skills to prevent unsafe situations and deal with different dangers</p>
<p>-Childcare skills to better manage behavior of children and child development based on the age and stage of the children</p>
<p>-First aid and rescue skills to learn the skill of choking rescue and how to respond and treat different injuries and illnesses</p>
<p>-Life and business skills to learn how to screen a babysitting job, discuss their fee and work with employers of babysitting jobs.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Class for 6th - 8th graders. Bring a brown bag lunch and snack.</strong></p>
