Swine Influenza
Bartlett Regional Hospital is taking extra precautions to keep our patients and hospital safe during the swine flu alert.
- Please use the hand disinfectant when entering.
- If you are presenting for care and have a respiratory illness, ask for a mask and tissues when registering.
- Please do not bring children into the hospital to visit.
- Please do not visit patients if you are feeling unwell or have cold or flu symptoms.
- If you do have signs or symptoms of flu*, please call ahead to your physician’s office before presenting so that they are able to take necessary precautions.
- Swine flu symptoms are the same as seasonal flu and include fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, head and body aches, and sometimes diarrhea and vomiting.
- The incubation period is usually 2-3 days but can be as long as 7 days.
- There is no vaccine to prevent swine flu at this time, but your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication if it is suspected that you have the flu.
