Wellness & Community Outreach
The Wellness Outreach Program supports healthy lifestyle and education opportunities in Juneau and southeast Alaska. In addition to community health education, the program sponsors at least three health fairs annually in outlying communities and collaborates with the non-profit Alaska Health Fair Inc to support Juneau’s Health Fair opportunities.
On the local front, Bartlett Hospital offers non-fasting glucose/cholesterol screenings and blood pressure checks by registered nurses and registered dieticians at the Nugget Mall in Juneau five times a year. These services are free to the public and provide the community ongoing access to screenings.
2010 Nugget Mall Glucose/Cholesterol/Blood pressure screening dates:
- September 25, 2010 10:00 am-2:00 pm (Non-fasting)
- November 20, 2010 10:00 am-2:00 pm (Non-fasting)
