Bartlett Regional Hospital is a tobacco free campus. We are committed to the health safety and comfort of our patients. If you or a family member uses tobacco we can help. We offer inpatient tobacco counseling and treatment, the Let’s Quit Program and phone support and counseling. If you have any question, please contact our Tobacco Treatment Specialist, Lynda Koski at (907) 796-8920.


Inpatient Counseling and Treatment

As a patient you will not be able to smoke on our hospital campus. We understand this may be difficult. You will be offered Nicotine Replacement Therapy during your stay in the hospital which is normally used to help people to manage nicotine withdrawal. This is available in patch, gum, lozenge, nasal spray and inhaler.

You will have the opportunity to meet with the tobacco treatment specialist, Lynda Koski. She will talk you answer your questions and assist you with an attempt to quit tobacco use if you are ready. She will also refer to the Alaska Tobacco Quit line which can supply you with two months of nicotine patches. Lynda teaches the Let’s Quit Classes which you can attend.

Let’s Quit Program

Let’s Quit is a group program for people who are ready to quit smoking or using tobacco and who want help. The class is offered four times a year (winter, spring, summer and fall). The class meets once a week for seven weeks on the hospital campus in the Robert Valliant Administration Building classrooms. The class focuses on strategies that have been proven to help people quit for good and on group support. Call Lynda at (907) 796-8920 for more information or to register for the class.

Alaska Tobacco Quit Line

Alaska Tobacco Quit Line; 1-888-842-QUIT (7848). Trained personnel offer you phone counseling to help you quit tobacco. Once you call them, you can receive 2 months worth of free nicotine patches to help you quit.
