Nursing in its broadest sense is an art and a science, which involves the whole person – body, mind and spirit – and in addition, provides health service to the family and community.
As the “heart” of patient care at Bartlett Regional Hospital, Patient Care Services is committed to excellent care. Keeping in mind our goal to sustain each patient at their highest possible level of well being, Patient Care Administration assumes responsibility for coordinating patient care activities with all other hospital departments, medical staff and other health care providers in the community and beyond.
Nursing care is based upon respect for the dignity and worth of every individual. We believe that each patient has the right to receive quality care based on individual needs and age. Patients and their families are involved in establishing priorities for care that best meet their needs. Education about health maintenance is available on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Over 100 licensed nursing staff work in Obstetrics, Surgery, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical/Pediatric, Mental Health, Emergency Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Wellness and Education Services. Professionalism, caring, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement are key qualities of our nursing staff.
Changes in health care technology, new nursing career opportunities, advances in treatment options, and increasingly informed consumers have significantly changed the role of nurses over the past several decades. Staff regularly participates in educational activities to maintain competence, gain new knowledge and develop advanced skills. Numerous nursing staff have achieved national certification in their specialty and are recognized experts in their field.
