Governance

The hospital is managed by a board of directors that is appointed by the Assembly of the City and Borough of Juneau. The nine board members serve three year terms. Board meetings are open to the public and atended by a Juneau Assembly liaison. The board of directors is proud of the hospital's record of management and service.

Although the City and Borough of Juneau own the land and assets of the hospital, the hospital is an enterprise fund, and the board is responsible for the economic viability of the hospital and for the oversight of management and medical operational issues.

Current Board of Directors

Management

Bartlett is associated with QHR, a firm that manages approximately 200 hospitals nationwide. This relationship allows Juneau to have the best mix of health care services by providing consulting services and purchasing power of a nationwide company with local control through our board of directions.

QHR provides the hospital with access to information and helps maintain lower costs. Association with QHR has helped strengthen Bartlett Regional Hospital’s financial picture.

QHR

Funding

Each year the board reviews comparitive pricing data. Results show that, overall, Bartlett's charges are among the lowest of hospitals of comparible size in the state.
